I love it when people take a joke and just make literal tiny labels on it and put them in a glass bottle of champagne. It’s like when you look around a room and you see things you like from across the room, and you just put them in a glass bottle of champagne in your apartment. People are so thoughtful and they don’t even care if they get a little bit of a headache or a little bit of a hangover.
That’s the sort of thing I like about the new Deathloop trailer. It’s like the little labels are a little bit more mature than you might think.
I think this is a perfect example of why it’s so important to be aware of our own behaviors. This is one thing I think about every time I’m at a party. I see people having sex and I’m like “I am so sorry to hear that!” and then I go back to what I was doing and I realize I’m not sorry because I was probably just making out with this guy. I should have asked him to stop before I was about to have sex with him.
It can be a little awkward to say and even a little awkward not to, but satire actually has reality and context. Its all so much more interesting when it is subtle. If you want to say something as subtle as “You look really sexy when you walk” satire is your best friend.
The difference between satire and reality is in what is left out of it. Satire is what is left out. Reality is what is included. That’s a real difference between satire and reality. Which is why we shouldn’t be too hard on satire. It’s just that satire is a little less subtle than reality.

In the new trailer, the camera pans up to a very bright and shiny sky, and then cuts to the ground. The camera then pans back up to the sky again. We then see a huge, shiny, blue orb. It’s a sun, and the camera pans back up and over the orb again. It’s very pretty, but then we see something completely different: a human hand, and the camera pans up to it and then cuts to the ground again. That’s reality.
There is no such thing as satire in art. To be satirical is to be a clever writer who puts in some very clever, witty lines. But satire is a very different thing. Like all art, satire is a creative act. However, it is not original, and is not a copy-paste of anything found elsewhere. It may be a parody or a satire of another work.
What are the “facts” we are supposed to take from these ‘facts’ that are so obviously true? We are supposed to take them as if the whole story is true, but they are not. For example, there’s no evidence at all that we are not in the “real world.” The word “fact” does not even exist in the English language. We are in a reality that exists independently from us.
The problem is that we are in a reality that exists independently from us. How do we know this? When we look around we see evidence all around us that it is happening. We see the real names of the people and places we are supposedly talking about. But there are no real names of the people and places we are not supposed to be talking about.
