It’s the home journal that has been my most consistent companion of late. You can get a copy online or at any local bookstore, but I find that I often use my journal as a reminder to keep up with the kids’ needs. I have started keeping a calendar by week, month, and year in there (I won’t share it here, but you can find it at a local bookstore or online).
Like the home journal, I have an online journal. This one is called my “ladys.” My daughter always insists that I put a little note in the journal to remind me that I’m supposed to be there. She has been so enthusiastic about this journal that she has started saving her own journal entries. I love that she has been so involved in our home journal that I can’t imagine what she’s doing with mine.
When I started writing my journal, I was a single woman in my mid-30s. I started out writing every week and then a few times a month after that. I did it for three reasons: I wanted to get back to what I was doing when I was younger, I felt a need to journal about my life, and I felt like I could learn something from it.
I like the journal because it helps me to remember my life. If I wrote every day, I would forget things and that would be a bad thing, but if I write every day then I can really think about what I am doing, and it helps me to remember my life’s purpose.
For me journaling helps me to keep my daily routine together. It helps me to know who I am and help me to remember who I am. I feel a lot more connected to my daily life when I’m writing every day than I do when I’m just busy.

Journaling has been a huge step in my own personal development. I started journaling again in January 2010 after a very long time away. I think that journaling has been such a great way to start new things, to really reconnect with yourself, and to be able to take back some of the things that you feel are important in your life. I find I am able to really connect with myself more and get into a new routine and become more and more comfortable with myself.
