As of February 2017, the company is being sold to Tenderloin-based El-Pilot, which is the group that owns Tenderloin and is an independent company that does business licensing with other companies.
When the company is sold, we will no longer be a company but a business. We will no longer be a place where artists and entrepreneurs come to work on their own projects and build their businesses. We will no longer be a place where we can continue to create and innovate. We will no longer be a place where anyone can be successful because the company is going to be sold.
The company is a registered company, so it’s not a separate business, but you have to be a member to be a member. When you sign up for a membership, you will have to pay a monthly membership fee.
You’re actually able to work for the company as a member. You just need to check the box saying that you’re a member. If you’d like to be a paid member, you can do that too.
The company is only going to exist so long as there is demand for El Segundo. So in order to maintain viability, the company is going to have to make it difficult for people to work for it. That means eliminating jobs that have no opportunity to pay well but pay a monthly membership fee. I think the first step is to eliminate the jobs that pay the monthly membership fee so people aren’t paying as much.
The next step is to eliminate jobs that have no chance of being profitable and will make the company a laughingstock. That means cutting back on the number of people who can do their job, so that they can afford the monthly membership fee.
