I am the lucky owner of two businesses. Being a business partner has allowed me to learn a lot about myself, and to be able to apply that knowledge to both the business and my personal life.
This is a good time to think about how working with the business side of your business has prepared you to be a good business partner. The one drawback to this is that you’ll probably want to make sure you have the best business partner possible, which means you’ll probably have to be a bit of a planner. There are also opportunities to be a bit more flexible with your partner’s schedule. For example, you could let your partner work from home or at the office.
The difference is that your working time is less of a constraint to you, because you know you can use your time more productively. This works for most businesses, but can be a bit of a hassle for start-ups and entrepreneurs.
The benefit of being a planner is that you can take the time to plan out exactly what you want to accomplish. You can make tasks and responsibilities more specific, so you’ll be more likely to stick to them. But the downside is that this sort of planning can also make you more likely to get overwhelmed.
One of the big downsides of planning is that it can make you feel more pressure to get everything done. This can create a false sense of urgency when you know you can get things done; you won’t have time to get everything done. I’m guilty of this too, but I tend to have to stop and think about what I want to accomplish. I’ll take a couple of days to plan out my weekly and monthly goals and then make a plan to get them done each week.
What this is saying is that you can’t just sit around on your ass and wait for things to happen. You can’t just think that you’re going to do everything perfectly all the time. You need to put some work into figuring out what you’re going to accomplish each day and how you’re going to get those things done.
This statement gets to the heart of why I like the term “business partner”. It shows that youre not the center of everything in the world. Youre not the head of the company. Youre not even the person with the latest marketing and sales genius. Youre not the person who is always the “one” who knows everything about what you’re doing, and who can solve all your problems.
You dont need to be the whole person. But you do need to be the person who can go out and make things happen. There are times when you need to have someone who is a different type of person (that is, someone who can help you figure out your problems) to help you achieve your goals.
Sometimes, it doesn’t matter what your skills are. This can be a time when you need to make an exception so your personal brand can shine through. This is definitely something that you can do if you are a freelancer on a tight budget. You may need to take on more than one client at a time. You’ll also likely need to have someone with your skills and experience to help you and mentor you through the process.
I’m not a big fan of consulting, in general. I think it’s a bit of a waste of time and money, but it can be a good thing if you want to get your name out there. I find it hard to believe that this is something that you would only do for a personal branding campaign or to help you learn the ropes. I know that I’m not alone in this opinion.
